Staying the Night at Davy Crockett State Park
Staying the night at Davy Crockett State Park near Lawrenceberg Tennessee.
Davy Crockett State Park
This picture was taken during a morning bike ride at Davy Crockett State Park in Tenessee. This bike trail is paved, but a little bumpy for a road bike because of the places where the pavement has been raised by roots.
The Farm
I remember hearing about “The Farm” in the seventies, but I had never visited until today. It has a colorful history as, what is now called, an intentional community. This is the Farm Store. It sells healthy foods and has a cafe.
Daniel After the Run
Daniel finished in third place today in the Campbellsville Tennessee run, and I was there to see it.
Across the Country on a Bike
I finally scanned the pictures from my 1995 PAC tour ride. Over 60 of us rode over 2800 miles from San Diego to Charleston in 23 days – an average of 123 miles a day. My family, Doreen, and some friends at work came to see me and wish me well when we stopped in Florence Alabama.
The pictures are posted to my smugmug site and can be seen here.

The Early Seeds of Modern Computing
This was a very enjoyable a demo of a working Babbage Difference Engine at the Computer History Museum at Mountain View.
Biking from San Francisco to Daly City
After riding across the Golden Gate Bridge and back, I decided to pedal to Daly City to the bus terminal. My plan was to take the bus back to Foster City. I took a side route along the coastal “Great Highway”, where I sometimes had to walk the Brompton over the sand drifts. I came across Fort Funston and took a picture.
Biking the Golden Gate Bridge
The wind was strong during the ride across. This photo was taken after I came back across. The Brompton foldable did just fine.
