Twin Peaks Hike Overlooking Salt Lake City
I’m very much enjoying staying with Brian. Late Wednesday afternoon we went on the twin peaks hike with the Utah Outdoors meetup group.
The panoramic view of the Salt Lake City and the entire valley is spectacular.
Daniel’s Half Marathon
Daniel completed his first half marathon Sunday at the Mercedes event in Birmingham. The weather started cold and ended cozy for the thousands of runners who participated. LaDonna, Cody, and I were there to see him cross the finish line.
Goodbye South Florida
These photos of Vero Beach were shot yesterday after I had lunch at Maria’s. I made it to Jacksonville today, where the sun is not shining. This month-long road trip is almost over.
Maria’s Surprise
After working this morning, I decided to go north along highway 1, thinking perhaps I might make it to Titusville. But I was only a few miles up the road, getting close to Vero Beach, when my stomach reminded me I needed to eat. I have food in the Roadtrek, but just on a whim, I asked Siri for a “vegetarian restaurant near Vero Beach”, knowing a vegetarian joint often has vegan options. I didn’t expect any response at all, but I was in for a pleasant surprise. On to Maria’s Organic Fountain.
Fort Pierce State Park
Since the internet connection here at Savannas Recreation Area was behaving this morning, I decided to work inside the Roadtrek for the first time on this road trip.
After work, there was still plenty of time in the day, so I headed out to Fort Pierce State Park. I went on a short bike ride and snapped a few photos. I was fortunate to still be there at sunset.
Lazy Day at Savannas Recreation Area
No rides and no beaches today. I’m slowly heading north. After stopping at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, I kept moving north and wound up at Savannas Recreation Area near Ft. Pierce, where I’m overnighting with hookups. Yea electricity. I even have wifi here — well, when it’s working anyway. Here are a few photos from both of these peaceful areas.

Juno Beach and a Ride
I started the ride from Juno Beach this morning and quickly joined two road bikers — Edwin and Chris. We rode from Juno Beach to a very large outdoor Green Market in West Palm Beach and back. After returning to Juno Beach, I snapped a few pictures of the beach area, featuring the ocean-loving canine Marley.

Bike Ride from MacArthur Park
When I stopped by Bicycle World in Jupiter yesterday, the guys in the store told me about a 15 mile loop from John D MacArthur park in Palm Springs Gardens. I rode the loop twice, and stopped often to take pictures of stuff that caught my eye. The weather was perfect.

Around Palm Beaches
After Jacob’s Garage got my air conditioner to blow cold, I headed north toward West Palm Beach and Jupiter. I stopped at a few of the beaches along the way to enjoy the sun, the rain, the sand, the birds, and the surf.
This is the first time I consciously tried to get a few birds in flight, known as BIFs to the pros. I need more practice to be able to track them in flight.
